Happy Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCBD)! This national event aims to raise awareness of children’s books that celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity, and share global voices and perspectives. Importantly, MCBD highlights the need for greater access to multicultural books as well, and actively helps disseminate more of them to classrooms and libraries nationwide.
While we have long been fans of MCBD, this year we’re also thrilled to participate by donating copies of our brand new bilingual Spanish-English counting book ¡Números, Baby! to teachers, librarians and young bookworms.
Additionally, select individuals review and recommend multicultural books submitted for MCBD. We are honored that ¡Números, Baby! has been reviewed and recommended on several online platforms, including:
Readerbuzz: ¡Me Gusta Leer!
“Every young child loves a counting book, and you couldn’t find a more perfect counting book for young Spanish-speaking children than this. For very young children, the pictures and text work as an ideal book for counting in Spanish and English. For slightly older children, the pictures and text work as an introduction to Spanish culture around the world…Delightful!”

“¡Números, Baby! This bilingual counting book (English/ Spanish), it’s a perfect reading for teaching little ones the numbers from 1 to 10. With vivid illustrations inspired by the authors’ own travels, young children can learn not only to count, but also to explore diverse Latin-American places. I recommend this book for its creativity to teach the basic numbers and for its cultural diversity.”
Visit the MCBD website for recommendations on a wide range of enriching diverse books for kids of all ages, as well as engaging activities for teachers and parents. Here’s to writing, reading, and celebrating multicultural books with our children today…and every single day!
